Money is not needed to suceed as an entrepreneur, nor connection, education or special skills or gifts. I know that I - a young, black woman - have been able to amass assets beyond my wildest dreams with little initial capital, no connections and scant help from anyone else.
To suceed as an entrepreneur, two characteristics are vitally necessary: an unyielding, overwhelming confidence in yourself and your abilities ; and the near-maniacal willingness to be utterly obsessed, committed and passionate about the possibilities that others will insist are totally impossible. Inspite of their opposition, you must see, feel, touch and taste your goals; such that you will not give up, even in the face of failure.
